A Shy Reporter Looks at Sexy Stores

In central Taipei there is a street called Linsen North road. Linsen is a party street. There are many clubs and pubs and karaoke joints. It has a salacious reputation as a place that has sex, if that is what you need. The party lasts all night. It takes a brave man to visit it on his own.
At first glance, the area may not seem too unusual. It may look like any of the crowded business streets of Taipei, but after a while you may notice that occasionally a beautiful young lady will run across the street to buy cigarettes for a client. Sometimes they will not have bothered to throw on something more modest.
Hostesses wear revealing clothes like miniskirts and bikini tops. Hot pants are never out of style, and there are many shops in the area that cater to these enticing costume needs. One girl ran by and almost looked at me. I was sweating.
I was nervous enough walking around there in the daytime with a camera, but after coming out at night, I was a total wreck. I thought that one of the shop ladies was giving me the eye. Luckily, she never said anything.
One of these days, I'll work up the nerve to go inside one of these places.
They had some clothes that must be for some sort of costume. Who buys this stuff?
